Lloyd Williams has spent more than thirty years in technology management, nearly twenty of them in healthcare, leading two health technology companies. His work spans electronic health records, telemedicine, practice management, revenue cycle management, remote patient monitoring, data integration and now AI. The thread running through the last fifteen years is standards-based interoperability: getting health information to move safely between systems of care, so that clinicians decide better, care stays continuous and patients are safer.

As co-founder and COO of Carefluence, he helped lead the company to become, in 2016, the first FHIR-based open API certified by the ONC in the United States. Its work has since reached EHR vendors, telemedicine and remote-monitoring platforms, hospitals and community health ecosystems in several parts of the world.

His career has taken him across Asia, Australia and North America, through project engineering, information technology, automotive engineering, pharmaceuticals and healthcare practice management. As a student he took part in rural development and food-for-work programmes with Caritas India, worked in hospice care with Mother Teresa's homes, and campaigned for education reform and fairer pay for teachers in India — experiences that still shape his view of technology as a means to better care.

He studied management at Loyola College, University of Madras, and healthcare leadership at Cornell University, and serves on the Board of the International Society for Telemedicine & eHealth (ISfTeH), a non-State actor in official relations with the WHO.
