Martin Praast brings together two perspectives that rarely meet in healthcare: that of the patient and that of the informatics specialist. A certified computer scientist (Dipl.-Inf.) and medical informatics specialist based in Darmstadt, he has long worked at the intersection of healthcare, IT and management — currently as Senior Counselor at Citric Cycle, where he provides strategic advisory at executive level.

Close to his heart is his role as Advisory Board Member of Data Saves Lives Germany (DSL DE), where he advocates for health data literacy and the patient-centred use of health data, driven by the conviction that data improves lives when patients can understand it and help shape how it is used.

As a member of the Roche Global MS Patient Advisory Council, he brings the patient perspective into international collaboration. As an independent patient advocate, he is active in the German MS campaign Trotz-MS, writes as the "Einblick" blogger for MS-Begleiter and educates about health on Instagram (@maddinsleben), supporting newly diagnosed people and working to reduce prejudice about multiple sclerosis.

He has contributed to digital health applications including Floodlight MS, Brisa and Healthpod MS. His focus areas are digital health applications (DiGA), data acquisition and how digital solutions can support living well with MS.
