As of 8 September 2025: The MATLAB Campus licence has been extended until 30 September 2026.
To continue using MATLAB, please update your licence file. You can find details here: Step-by-step guide
The Faculties of Applied Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics, Applied Natural Sciences and Industrial Engineering, and Electrical Engineering and Media Technology, in collaboration with the IT Centre, are leading the provision of a campus licence for MATLAB, Simulink and all associated toolboxes for the entire university. This licence permits the use of all MathWorks products for research, teaching and study by all staff and students of the university, on both university-owned and personal devices. Special thanks go to the faculties mentioned above, which have made this possible through joint funding. Above all, this licence enables use on personal devices – a feature that is particularly useful for virtual courses.
Support: If you have any questions regarding installation, please contact MathWork-Support directly.
Single-user licence
The DIT MATLAB-Portal portal provides access to the software for individual users with an @th-deg.de or @stud.th-deg.de email address:
- Click on ‘Register’ in the MATLAB portal and follow the instructions to link your account to the new licence and access the download area. When you enter your THD email address, the campus licence is automatically recognised.
- Existing MATLAB users should follow the same steps to link their account to the new licence. By registering, you agree to MathWorks’ privacy policy.
Classroom/laboratory use
The campus licence also covers the existing research and classroom licences. The licence types will be converted and stored accordingly on the existing licence servers. Ideally, the laboratories currently connected to the system will not notice any difference. Additional laboratories can obtain MATLAB and Simulink licences as required
