New test accesses Pressreader und Inspec Direct / Inspec Data Analytics

The following test accesses are now available:

 

Pressreader (- 15.6.):

The portal offers access to national and international newspapers and magazines (The Washington Post, The Guardian, Die Welt, Focus, Newsweek...)

Access is via IP-Check. It is also possible to use the app during the test access:

Access on campus

  • Access is automatically granted on fixed installed computers
  • Automatic access is granted with the Wi-Fi connection Eduroam
  • with all other Wi-Fi connections a  VPN connection is needed

Access from home

Inspec Direct (- 30.6.):

  • Enables a comprehensive literature search on the topics of physics, engineering and computer science
  • Documents from more than 500 publishers indexed
  • A total of approx. 26.5 million documents (articles from journals, conference papers, preprints, books, dissertations, standards, reports, etc.) are indexed in the basic database
  • Research in Inspec is more effective and accurate
    • through humane indexing and curation of the data records by Subject Matter Specialists (often with doctorates in the respective fields)
    • thanks to the thesaurus, which has been developed and optimised over more than 50 years, and the up to 5-level classification of each individual data record

Inspec Analytics (-30.6.):

  • helps to get an overview of the research landscape in specific subject areas
  • supports by
    • the search for experts in specific fields
    • the search for co-operation partners
    • the search for sponsors for their own research
    • searching for journals and conferences in order to make the own research better known
    • the evaluation of own research activity and that of partners or competitors (measured by the number of publications and the citation frequency of their articles)
