After the application period, it will take approximately 4 to 5 weeks until you receive feedback on the decision.
During the preparation of the dissertation, the components of the structured doctorate (PromO § 10 + guidelines) must be fulfilled.
Templates
The supervision agreement must be submitted with the application.
An overview of publications must be submitted at the opening of the doctoral procedure.
As part of the structured doctoral programme, it is necessary that regular meetings (at least once a year) are held between supervisors and doctoral candidates. In these meetings, a short list of the steps already undertaken shall be drawn up and, if necessary, the work schedule is adapted together. The information that the meeting or meetings have taken place must be reported to the DIT Graduate School by September via Primuss (see guidelines).
The presentation will take place in a colloquium of the DigiTech doctoral centre. The next date for this is planned for July 2025. More detailed information will be sent out.
The courses can be completed during the entire duration of the doctorate. The relevant certificates can be uploaded to Primuss on an ongoing basis - but at the latest at the opening of the doctoral procedure (see guidelines). In principle, the courses can be attended at any institution; the following courses are offered at the three partner universities:
Dates, times, format (face-to-face, online, hybrid) and course language (German, English) can be found on the homepage.
Courses already attended can also be recognised as long as the number of ECTS credits is identical.
You are responsible for completing the relevant courses during your doctorate and submitting the relevant certificates. The evidence will only be checked at the start of the opening of the doctoral procedure.
The confirmation(s) of the completed SWS can be uploaded to Primuss on an ongoing basis - but at the latest at the opening of the doctoral procedure (see guidelines). Please note that 4 SWS are required in total and not per semester.
You are responsible for providing evidence of the relevant teaching. The evidence will only be checked at the start of the opening of the doctoral procedure.
The doctoral procedure can only be opened if the structured doctoral programme has been completed in full and all documents have been submitted (PromO § 11).
The Doctoral Committee decides on the admission of the candidates to the Promotionszentrum DigiTech and officially opens the doctorate proceedings. It appoints the supervising professors and the Examination Board.

We are happy to provide information for those interested in doing a doctorate and for interested professors below.
An application for admission to the Promotionszentrum DigiTech is only possible with a confirmation of supervision from a professorial member. Please note the respective departments of the professors. Alternatively, the desired supervisor can apply for admission to the Promotionszentrum.
The admission requirements for doctoral studies are regulated in PromO § 3.
Fast-track promotion is not offered within the framework of the Promotionszentrum DigiTech.
As part of a doctorate at the Promotionszentrum DigiTech, all doctoral candidates undergo a mandatory qualification programme. This consists of a few elements, which must be completed during the doctorate.
More detailed information can be found in § 10 PromO, in the guidelines for the structured doctoral programme and on our homepage.
Once you have been accepted to the Promotionszentrum, you will be enrolled at the TH Deggendorf and the university where your first supervisor is based (DIT, TU Augsburg or Landshut University of Applied Sciences). The only fees payable are the applicable student union fee. This must be paid at the university of first enrolment (ideally the same university as the first supervisor)
Under "Members" you will find a list of all professors of the Promotionszentrum DigiTech with the name of the respective department. They are available for enquiries regarding doctoral projects.
The initial supervision of the doctoral project must be carried out by a professorial member of the doctoral centre. The second supervision can be carried out by professors who are not part of the doctoral centre.
You will find a list of all the necessary documents and records in the manual.
The first supervisor must be a professorial member of the Promotionszentrum. Other supervisors do not have to be members of the romotionszentrum.
Interested professors of the involved universities (TH Deggendorf, TH Augsburg and HaW Landshut) who fulfil the requirements according to § 13 AVBayHIG can apply for membership.
The necessary documents for an application for membership can be requested from the Graduate School of your own university:
The completed documents are sent back to the Graduate School of your own university, where they are checked for completeness and accuracy. The documents are then sent to the THD Graduate School for forwarding to the steering committee. At the steering committee meeting (which takes place twice a year), a decision is made on admission. Following this, feedback is sent by e-mail and, if accepted, a letter of acceptance is sent by post.
