The research information system Bay.FIS

Bay.Fis at dit

Efficient research management and transparent science

Deggendorf Institute of Technology uses the Bay.FIS research information system to centrally record, coordinate and visualise its research activities. The system supports researchers and administrative units in efficiently managing projects, publications, doctorates and other scientific achievements.

Bay.FIS forms the basis for modern, digital research management. It enables a structured and transparent presentation of research achievements to funding bodies, co-operation partners and the public. At the same time, it facilitates internal processes such as controlling, strategic planning and reporting.

As part of a Bavaria-wide network, DIT is continuously working with other universities to further develop the system. This exchange not only improves the quality of the data, but also strengthens supra-regional academic co-operation.

With Bay.FIS, DIT is creating a sustainable infrastructure that promotes the transfer of knowledge between science, business and society.

Co-operations & visions

Originally started as a plan to develop a research information system, Bay.FIS is currently in the process of transforming into a science management information system (WMIS) and is to be further developed into a science management system (WMS) in the coming years.

Bay.FIS is now part of a consortium of 13 universities of applied sciences (HAW) and technical universities (TH), either already fully integrated or currently being implemented. The participating universities are continuously developing the scientific management information system (WMIS), which has already been implemented to a large extent.
