Deggendorf Institute of Technology, offers two flexible study models: the combined degree programme and the degree programme with in-depth practical experience.Each of our Bachelor's degree programmes can be tailored to fit one of these models.

The opportunities at DIT in cooperation with a company:
Are you about to take your (vocational) A-levels, and are you motivated and determined? Would you like to study, but find a purely academic degree too theoretical? With a combined degree programme or a degree programme with in-depth practical experience at DIT, you can combine theory with plenty of practical experience. These two models offer you many advantages.

Joint Studies & Studies with In-Depth Practice
Joint Studies - Bachelor
This programme combines full-time study at the university with vocational training (leading to an IHK/HWK qualification) at a training company. The first year of training takes place at the company a year before you start your studies. After the first year of training, the practical phases generally take place during the semester breaks, the practical semester and the Bachelor’s thesis. During the regular lecture period, you are a full-time student.

Studies with In-Depth Practice - Bachelor
The full-time degree programme at the university is combined with intensive practical phases during the semester breaks, the practical semester and the bachelor’s thesis, all of which take place within a company. During the regular lecture term, you are a full-time student.

Studies with In-Depth Practice - Master
The Master’s programme, structured as a course with an in-depth practical component, lasts 1.5 years (3 semesters) on a full-time basis. Students spend at least 34 weeks (or at least half of the standard duration of study) in a company, primarily during the semester breaks and while working on their industry-focused Master’s thesis, which forms the culmination and conclusion of the programme.

Depending on the programme, you can start your studies in either the summer or winter semester.
dual-accredited degree programmes
In general, all Bachelor’s degree programmes at DIT can be undertaken either as a joint study programme or as a programme with in-depth practice. These two models are based on the concepts of ‘hochschule dual’. hochschule dual is the umbrella brand for dual study programmes at Bavarian universities of applied sciences.
The degree programmes listed below have already been assessed for the ‘dual’ profile characteristic in accordance with the existing provisions of the BayStudAkkV / Section 12(6) MVRO. However, this accreditation process does not alter the fact that all Bachelor’s degree programmes can be studied under the above-mentioned models: the combined study programme and the study programme with in-depth practical training. Deggendorf Institute of Technologyy has been system-accredited by the ASIIN agency since 9 September 2020.
COMPANY & VOCATIONAL SCHOOL COOPERATIONS
COMPANY COOPERATIONS
To participate in a dual study programme, companies must enter into a cooperation agreement with the university. The guidelines for practice semesters, which include information on the fields of activity, apply to every degree programme.
Pupils are welcome to apply on their own initiative to the companies of their choice – regardless of the list below – for a dual study programme (combined study programme or programme with in-depth practical training). Please contact us at dual@th-deg.de and discuss the company with us.
The study place portal of hochschule dual also offers assistance in finding a suitable company. A cooperation agreement between the company and DIT for the dual study programme must be concluded by the time dual students begin their studies at DIT at the latest.

Cooperations with Vocational Schools
In most cases, dual-study students are exempt from compulsory vocational school attendance. The decision on whether to attend vocational school rests with the companies. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
The following vocational schools offer their own class for dual-study students in cooperation with the DIT:
- Civil Engineering programme for the trades of carpenter and bricklayer in partnership with the Werner-von-Siemens-Schule-Staatliche Berufsschule Cham
- Business Administration programme for the trade of e-commerce specialist in partnership with the Staatlichen Berufsschule Neuburg
- Degree programmes in Electrical and Information Technology and Industrial Engineering / Maintenance and Operation in the apprenticeship trades of Electronics Technician for Automation Technology, Electronics Technician for Energy and Building Technology, and Electronics Technician for Industrial Engineering with the Europa Berufsschule Weiden i.d. Obf
- Degree programme in Mechanical Engineering in the apprenticeship trade of Industrial Mechanic
- Technical Design and Mechanical Engineering course in the vocational training programme for Technical Product Designers in partnership with the Staatlichen Beruflichen Schulzentrum Wasserburg a. Inn
Application Information
Applications for combined degree programmes or degree programmes with intensive in-company training for the winter semester must generally be submitted between mid-April and mid-July. The application to the DIT and the application to the company are separate processes.
A pre-study placement may be required for the chosen degree programme. This pre-study placement is not required for applicants undertaking a degree programme with in-depth practical training or a dual study programme. By uploading the contract to the Primuss applicant portal, the pre-study placement is deemed to have been completed.

Please note: Dual students must apply both to DIT and to the company! Dual training contracts may also be submitted during the application period.
First application process at the university in the initial year of vocational training
- Please note the application period.
- Carry out your application online (Please tick the box for dual studies) and upload all required documents.
- Upload your IHK/HKW training contract including the supplementary agreement with schedule (of the IHK or HWK) in one document.
- There is no enrolment in the first application process: You do not need to upload an application for enrolment.
- Start of your vocational training is in the summer (usually August or September).
- Start of studies is in the following year.
- Notes for the International Management programme:
- Admission to the programme is via the procedure for determining aptitude. Admission to the programme is therefore conditional on passing the admission test. The test only has to be taken and passed once. If the test is not passed, it can be repeated in the application period November - February.
- Notes for the Applied Business Psychology programme:
- Admission to the programme is based via procedure for determining aptitude.
- Please note: The application can only be accessed during the application period.
Second application to the university in the year of the start of the course
- Please note the application period.
- Log into the Primuss portal again with your access data (e-mail + password) from last year. (If you have forgotten the password, you can generate a new one).
- Now all you have to do is upload a confirmation from the company that you are still in a training contract with them.
- As soon as the second notification of admission for the winter semester appears on the portal, you have to upload the application for enrolment.
- You will receive information on how to proceed via e-mail and via the Primuss portal.
- Start your studies for the winter semester (1 October) at the Deggendorf Institute of Technoloy.
- Information for the International Management Programme:
- Admission to the programme is via the aptitude assessment procedure. Admission is therefore conditional on passing the admission test. The test only has to be taken and passed once. If the test is not passed, it can be repeated during the second application process.
- Notes for the Applied Business Psychology programme:
- Admission to the programme is based via procedure for determining aptitude.
Study at the university and in-depth practice phases within a company during the semester breaks and the practical semester.
