- Unleash Your Potential -

Join the New University Rowing Team on the Danube!

Are you looking for a sport that values teamwork above all else? Ready to feel the power of the water as you glide across the Danube as part of an unbeatable team? Now’s your chance! Our university is launching its own rowing team for the Winter Semester 2024/25 and is searching for ambitious students eager for a challenge and competition. Join us and be part of a unique community striving for greatness on the water together.

With our newly acquired racing eight rowing boat, which has cut through the waves for the Canadian national team over the past two years, you'll have the opportunity to row in a boat built for teamwork and success. Every time the oars slice into the water in sync, you'll feel the strength of the team propelling you forward. It’s this perfect rhythm and mutual trust that makes rowing so special.

Rowing has a rich 150-year history in Germany and is well-established in the academic world. You’ve probably heard of the famous Boat Race between the universities of Oxford and Cambridge, held annually on the River Thames. With the Danube right on our doorstep, we have the perfect location to launch our own rowing journey.

In close cooperation with the Deggendorf Rowing Club, we offer a comprehensive and professional training programme that will enhance your athletic skills while preparing you physically and mentally for peak performance. Rowing, as an endurance sport, includes athletic training and intense sessions on the water, where you and your team will learn to row in perfect harmony.

Whether you’re an experienced rower or a complete beginner, there’s a place for you in our team. We’re building both men's and women’s teams, with the goal of competing in national and international regattas and university competitions. Every joint movement in your team counts and you’ll celebrate success together!

Join us and experience the thrill of winning as a team!

Your DIT rowing team is waiting for you!
