20191127 ieee conferencegb Awards for European Campus Rottal-Inn’s Professor at IEEE International Conference on e-Health and Bioengineering

27.11.2019 | DIT-Press - The 7th IEEE International Conference on e-Health and Bioengineering (EHB) took place from November 21st to 23rd in Iași, Romania. Keynote speaker Prof. Dr. med. Georgi Chaltikyan of European Campus Rottal-Inn (ECRI) presented the campus and received two awards for his achievements in the sector of Digital Health at the EHB 2019.

Prof. Chaltikyan was one of the keynote speakers at this year’s conference under the motto “Smarter technology for a better health”. In his plenary keynote lecture titled “Digital Health Revolution: Has the Future of Medicine Arrived Yet?” he presented an overview of the current state, some red-hot trends, recent policy initiatives, upcoming developments in Digital Health, and the study programme on Digital Health at ECRI, Master of Medical Informatics (MMI), which he coordinates. Prof. Chaltikyan received a “Diploma of Honour for outstanding merits in promoting Digital Health, eHealth, Telemedicine and Healthcare Management”, as well as an “Appreciation Award for Excellence in Bioengineering” from Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmacy Iași at the EHB 2019.

The EHB takes place every two years. This year the conference was organized by Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmacy Iași and the Romanian Society of Medical Bioengineering under the auspices and technical sponsorship of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). The EHB 2019 emphazised the fact, that the subdomains and topics of e-Health, medical bioengineering and biomedical engineering represent fundamental pillars for the reinforcement of medical research and of healthcare. The conference’s specific aim is to promote concepts and advanced hardware and software technologies in the emerging domains of e-Health, medical devices and instrumentation, biosignal and image processing, medical informatics, biomechanics, biomaterials, biotechnologies, medical physics, healthcare management, teaching and (e-)learning, rehabilative and assistive technologies, as well as in some younger disciplines such as bioinformatics, systems biology and the virtual physiological human. Another permanent objective of the EHB is to strengthen the interdiciplinary character between medical and technical researchers and practicioners within the generous setting of medical bioengineering.
